It will be great for Kyrie if he can be traded to Knicks. Biggest stage in basket ball and him/poezingis will be killer combination. They have another unpredictable bench player in Tim Hardaway Jr. |

Love undaga Melo very bad fit...ippudu for all 3: Melo, Lebron and love...best position is PF...Lebron is still a great SF...but they are too similar and none of them is an elite 3 pt shooter...Love is the best 3 pt shooter among the 3....and none of the 3 can chase the best guards...Lebron can do it may be for a game or two...but its a bad use of his energy. |

i think this is a very good draft class...similar to KAT, Porzi, D'Angello, Booker and Jokic draft class....and i think he is the best among this draft class.
Summer league lo shine ayyina vallu Lonzo, Dennis Smith, Donovan Mitchell, Jonathan Isaac and Tatum...of course Fultz is good too. knicks and bulls screwed up big time...not taking Dennis Smith...Mavs got a steal on draft day...Phil taatha triangle point guard ani saantham naakinesaadu...ippudu taatha ledu triangle ledhu...only triangle point guard migiladu.
Utah has been drafting spectacularly...only team to have drafted a superstar in 20s in last 5 few years..may be even 2 superstars if Hood develops into one. They got Gordon Hayward at #9...this year too it was super decision to move up to get Donovan Mitchell. |

Naaku geddam ante chiraak...but last 3 years lo 2 times close 2nd in MVP of the league race and he will only turn 28 next month...so he has some years of prime left.
But, not a fan of this extension 2 years before the current contract expires...appatiki he will be 30...too much of risk on the team to do these super long extensions...30 ki kooda ilage adithe...you can always extend or if he wants to go to another you can get some assets....now too much downside if he has injuries, loses interest in the game or starts sliding down. |

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban cited the dominance of the Golden State Warriors and depth of the Western Conference as reasons for the direction of his franchise.
"We're rebuilding. Right?" Cuban said during the ESPN broadcast of the Mavs' 88-77 win Sunday over the Phoenix Suns in the Las Vegas Summer League. "There's no question about it. If we were in the East, we would not be rebuilding. We'd be handling things completely different. I think Mapple Leaf Entertainment did not want to pay luxury tax at any cost...Masai had to give up a 1st round pick(lottery protected) and 2nd round pick to send out Demarre Carrol...now they don't have a starting forward. Terrific GMing by Sean Marks....never easy to win a trade against Masai. Sean Marks showing all the typical Spurs groomed GM traits. Nets pushed 3 teams deep into luxury tax now and there is a cap space crunch in the league...they will also get a share of luxury taxes paid by all teams.
Now Nets have a bunch of picks recouped over the last 2 years and have drafted well...they also have one of best young talents in league in D'Angello Russel...I think their future is suddenly looking better than a lot of teams in the East. |

I think they will see how Curry, Klay and Draymond are aging and decide after this season...if they can sell it to their fanbase..its safer for them to trade Curry before his production drops...that contract will be un-tradable once his value drops. |

I think Celtics will clearly get better than last year with Gordon Hayward+ all their young players improving. Cavs will probably decline a bit with aging of Lebron and Love....so it should be an even match-up.
Outside factors....Celtics have more upside with the ability to upgrade the roster with trades....Lebron can be checked out like last time juat waiting to leave.
I think Dan Gilbert may be ok with not having to pay Lebron at age 33 a 200 Million contract. Last time when Lebron left they made all kinds of crazy trades to keep him happy...he left and they were left with a disaster. This time I think Dan wants to be in control and have a decent team even if Lebron leaves. If Lebron decided to leave...will he ask for a trade like CP3 is the big question...that will preserve his ability to get a 5 year deal...if he leaves in free agency he will instantly loose 50 Million. |

One of the most fascinating stories of this free agency is how Don Masai handled the free agency of Lowry and Ibaka. They were not good enough to be championship contenders but still had by far the best 3 years in frachise history. Most people thought given Canada's high taxes, Msasi would have to give out a 5 year max deal to bring back Lowry and then they will be paying a huge luxury tax for nothing. He played the negotiations spectacularly and came out with a 3 year deal under 100 million for Lowry and bought back Ibaka on a 3 year deal as well. They will make the play-offs make money off those play-games and entertain the fans atleast for the next 2 years...and then will have clean books going forward. No wonder every team wants Masai running the show for them.

Everything starts with Lowry, Toronto's best player, and one of the most important in franchise history. Toronto can offer Lowry a five-year, $200 million-plus deal; rivals can offer only four-year deals starting at the same maximum annual salary of around $35 million.
The Raptors would be right to feel queasy offering Lowry the full boat. He is 31, with some nicks and bruises. Point guards don't tend to age well. Ibaka is younger, and will probably get around $20 million per season on his next contract -- much less than Lowry.
Play hardball with Lowry, and he might leave -- just like Al Horford bolted Atlanta after the Hawks haggled over that dicey fifth season. Lowry's a prickly, proud dude, and he will have suitors -- including his hometown Sixers. He signed what turned out to be a wildly below-market contract in 2014, and he (justifiably) wants to be paid as a franchise guy. He led the sad-sack Raptors out of the sullen Andrea Bargnani era, to places where they had never been.
Say goodbye to Lowry, and there is little reason to pay Ibaka. Barring a major salary dump, the Raptors would not have enough cap room even with Lowry gone to add shooting around the DeRozan-Ibaka core.
Ibaka is trending the wrong way. He's a good spot-up shooter, but opponents still mostly leave him open. He doesn't have the sort of gravitational pull that changes the geometry of the floor. His defense has fallen off. He can't post up, and he still has zero playmaking skills. Pass him the ball in open space, and the music stops. He holds the ball, the scrambled defense resets itself, and every window closes.
If Lowry leaves, the rational move, as painful as it would be after this era of good feelings, is a full teardown. LeBron isn't going anywhere. Boston, Washington, and Milwaukee are rising. Toronto has collected a bunch of interesting young players in Norman Powell, Jakob Poeltl, Pascal Siakam and Delon Wright. Unleash the kids, lose a lot of games, and play the high lottery again.
Remember: These Raptors are an accident. Ujiri has long acknowledged that. Trading Rudy Gay in 2014 was step one in a possible tank job. Sending Lowry to the Knicks would have finished it, but the deal fell apart. Ujiri isn't satisfied with being good, and he has shown a willingness to take extreme measures in pursuing championship-level greatness. |

Nooo...home grown talent is always the best way...1st round drafted players are locked up for 9 years through their rookie contract and second contract. Players entering free agency are usutally 9+ year veterans who become very expensive and usually decline....very very rarely they produce more value then their salary.
Look at all the biggest names to change their teams in free agency over the the last few years...Lebron, Durant, Amare Stoudemire, Carlos Booze, Dwight, Lamarcus Aldridge, Al Horford, Wade...among these players only Lebron and possibly Durant produced more value then their salary in the 3rd contract...rest all have become hard to get rid of contracts. Aldride and Dwight were ok because of a steep increase in cap...even then their teams have found it hard to trade them.
Clippers dodged a major bullet in case of CP3...they would have been forced to offer a 200 M+ contract for a 32 year old player. These contracts are almost always a disaster...only mvp level players can perform at a level that justifies a contract like that and no way paul can play at that level for 5 years. Clippers got a good return on Paul....but Doc will mess it up for sure.
Stars in the first 9 years are the best value in NBA...Spurs have been great for a long time because they are so good at developing young talent. Even for Curry, I dont like the 200+ Million contract but atleast he is only 29 and if the falls of at age 32...then Warriors will only have a 2 year headache with some 85 million left on their books. |

A lot of second-rounders are drafted onto teams without any open roster spots, and many never get the opportunity to show what they can do before heading overseas. The second round is not a meritocracy. Players are often selected based off relationships teams have with their agents, as well as their willingness to be stashed in Europe rather than report to training camp.
However, every year there’s always a few who end up making a big splash in the league. Isaiah Thomas, taken with the last pick in 2011, is the patron saint of players overlooked on draft night, and every guy taken after pick 30 this year is trying to be the next Malcolm Brogdon or Patrick McCaw. The odds of making it at the next level as a second-rounder are long, but someone will beat them.
The team that hits on a second-round pick will reap tremendous value from getting a good young player on such a dirt-cheap contract. The Bucks will be paying Brogdon only $1.5 million in 2019, and they will have the right to match any contract he receives in restricted free agency the following season. There’s no downside to swinging and missing on guys in this range, which is why selling picks, rather than just trading them for future seconds, is a classic example of penny-wise and pound-foolish thinking.
Jordan Bell, Warriors
The Bulls ought to be ashamed of themselves for selling this pick. Not only are they beginning a complete rebuild following the decision to trade Jimmy Butler, but they let the reigning NBA champions add an interesting prospect for nothing more than cash. No team in the league needs young talent more than Chicago does at this point, and no team needs it less than Golden State. Even though the Warriors gave the Bulls $3.5 million, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer in this transaction. The Bulls had better hope Bell, the 38th pick, doesn’t pan out, because they will look bad in a few years if he does.
After Chris Boucher tore his ACL in the Pac-12 tournament, Bell turned himself into the NCAA version of Draymond Green, almost single-handedly carrying Oregon to the Final Four. He switched screens and locked up smaller players on the perimeter, controlled the lane as an interior defender, dominated the glass, and picked apart opposing defenses from the high post. The only thing he didn’t do well was box out, and it ended up costing Oregon a chance to play in the national title game. Nevertheless, Bell’s combination of athleticism and high basketball IQ makes him a perfect fit for the way Golden State plays.
The main concern about Bell is that he’s slender (6-foot-8 and 225 pounds) and he’s not a good shooter, so his best chance to succeed at the next level is in a relatively narrow role as a small-ball 5 who comes off the bench for a perimeter-oriented team. However, the Warriors are currently filling that role with James Michael McAdoo, who hasn’t given much indication that he knows how to play basketball despite the countless opportunities Steve Kerr has given him. Don’t be surprised if Bell is playing important minutes in next season’s playoffs. He’s exactly the type of switchable big man that teams need to beat the Warriors, and now he’ll be playing for them. Bulls fans aren’t the only ones who should be mad at their front office. |

Danny Ainge ki oka 15-20 picks and rookies unnaru...so he can can gamble. Tristan Thompson is not an asset...he is may be a 15 Million player making 17 Million. There are lot of teams trying to offload centers.
But, I think Cleveland should still try to get PG for Love...if Pacers want it. I think Cleveland's window is shut after next year...Gilbert ki better if PG leaves next year...the team is not winning another championship after next year and he wont be blamed for not paying luxury tax if PG leaves. |

I think he is Celtics to loose. Any tier-1 asset should easily trump Kevin Love on a max contract for the next 2 years...especially for a rebuilding team like Pacers.

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a deal with the Boston Celtics to acquire the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, clearing the way to select Washington point guard Markelle Fultz, league sources told The Vertical.
The teams are expected to finalize the trade with the league office on Monday, league sources said.
Philadelphia is planning to send Boston the No. 3 overall pick in Thursday’s draft and the 2018 first-round pick that the Los Angeles Lakers owe the Sixers, league sources told The Vertical. The Lakers’ pick in 2018 is protected Nos. 2-5, league sources said.
If that pick doesn’t convey to the Celtics, the Sixers will send a 2019 first-round pick via the Sacramento Kings to Boston, league sources said.
The Lakers were interested in getting a deal to secure the No. 1 pick to take Fultz, league sources said, but didn’t have the depth of assets that Philadelphia possessed.

I don't think its a bad trade...Fultz almost has no weakeness but he is not a sure fire superstar either. They could even win this trade depending on how the Lakers pick pans out and how well they do with #3 pick.
Their current problem is...in a way they will be wasting Fultz behind 4 point guards Isiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart (#6 pick in 2014) and Terry Rozier (#16 pick in 2015). They already had to cut a couple of draft picks last year because of roster crunch. First two are star or atleast starting caliber players. Smart and Rozier have shown potential to be starting caliber point guards.
Fultz has the most upside...any other team would have traded a couple of the above PGs to give minutes to Fultz...but Celtics are also in a contend now mode have reached the eastern conference finals...its a hard choice. |
